Begravet: Oakland, Alameda, California, USA. 1933 - 2009 Resident of Piedmont Better known to his friends and family as Pete. He passed away on January 28th, 2009 after his three and a half-month battle with cancer. Born in Berkeley, CA on February 16th 1933. A life long resident of the Bay Area. He graduated from Oakland Tech High School in 1950. He enjoyed business, cars and world travel. For 28 years he vacationed in his second home on the water at Lake Tahoe. His passion for his business continued for over fifty years. His company in 1955 began with four employees. It grew for many years and expanded from a local food company to service three states. He had an ownership interest in several other companies in many states through the years. In death, he was preceded by his loving sister Kristine "Baby" and devoted parents Peder and Thora Sorensen. Pete is survived by his three children Scott, Lisa, Kathy, seven grandchildren and Elaine, his companion of 34 years. Memorial services will be held Thursday, 10 a.m. at Grant Miller-John Cox Mortuary, 2850 Telegraph Ave., Oakland, for family and friends.
